MPLS VPN is a data-carrying mechanism which operates at a layer that is generally considered to lie between traditional definitions of Layer 2 (data link layer) and Layer 3 (network layer), and thus is often referred to as a "Layer 2.5" protocol. MPLS can build unique user groups to establish your private network; data cannot be captured or viewed by anyone outside of your predetermined user group.
MPLS enables companies to converge voice, video and data on a single network while its any-to-any network topology offers network managers the flexibility to divert traffic around link failures and network congestion on the fly. MPLS traffic engineering and precise traffic routing allows businesses to pack more data into their bandwidth on hand and reduces router-processing requirements.
Our privately managed MPLS network provides exceptional performance, total redundancy, and the fexibility to deliver true Quality of Service. We also deliver Quality of Service (QoS) and Class of Service (CoS) over a large spectrum of services for additional levels of prioritization and traffic management end-to-end. MPLS is a solution to multiple challenges of unified networks: security, scalability, throughput, reliability, QOS management, traffic engineering, and most importantly traffic segregation.
Our fully managed Wide Area Network (WAN) solution delivered over MPLS network. The service allows your offces to easily and affordably connect with each other, as well with suppliers and business partners across the country or around the world. It also allows you to consolidate your voice, video and data traffc over a single, secure and reliable private IP-based network.
MPLS technology ensures strong protection and security of such VPN’s. MPLS is a high-speed switching technology which uses labels instead of IP Addresses to identify destinations. The Service is provided by using this technology of forwarding by labels. The IP packet which is sent from a Customer site to another Customer site identifies which VPN the IP packet belongs to and which IP Address the IP packet is addressed to when the packet reaches the Service Network, and then the corresponding label is attached to the IP packet. The label instead of IP Address is identified as a destination in the network to forward the IP packet. The label is removed from the IP packet when the IP packet reaches a Customer connection router at the destination site. The IP packet, which is restored to its original form is sent to the customer site, enabling the IP packet to reach its destination.
Layer and Bandwidth Choice
We offer a full range of business-class T1, DS3, Business Ethernet, and Wireless broadband solutions. We can work with you to provide every site with the right bandwidth at the right price, so you don’t have to manage multiple access vendors. We can also extend the reach of your VPN to partners or remote workers using their existing Internet access.
MPLS is available in two types:
Layer 2 VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Services)
Layer 3 IP VPN (IP Virtual Private Network)
Enterprises preferring Layer 2 VPN services can be generalized as having these main characteristics:
• Fewer than 10 corporate locations
• Bandwidth requirements for most of these locations of more than 10 Mb/s
• Have sophisticated IT departments that want to maintain control of their networking and routing decisions
• Applications written with non-IP protocols, such as SNA, IP.X, etc.
Enterprises preferring Layer 3 VPN services can be generalized as having these characteristics:
• More than 10 corporate locations
• Bandwidth requirements for most of these locations of less than 10 Mb/s
• Have IT departments that want to outsource the maintenance of their networking and routing decisions
• Mostly IP-based applications
